Saradha: CBI quizzes Kunal Ghosh, records his statement
Kolkata, Jan 11 (IBNS): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday grilled suspended Trinamool Congress (TMC) Rajya Sabha MP Kunal Ghosh for nearly 12 hours in connection with its ongoing probe into Saradha chit fund scam and his statement was recorded by the investigators, officials said.
According to sources, Kunal Ghosh sent few letters, mentioning the names of few influential people, allegedly involved in Saradha scam.
He also sent CDs, containing evidences, to the Central probe agency and a special CBI court in Kolkata's Alipore.
As the court recently directed the CBI to submit a report on Kunal Ghosh's documents, the MP was questioned for hours at CBI office at CGO Complex in Kolkata's Salt Lake area, sources said.
Years ago, a Special Investigation Team (SIT), formed by West Bengal government, booked Kunal Ghosh in connection with the financial scam.
Later, CBI took over the probe, after being directed by the Supreme Court of India.
Kunal Ghosh was granted bail from Calcutta High Court few weeks earlier.
