WB governor M K Narayanan resigns
Kolkata/New Delhi, June 30 (IBNS) West Bengal Governor M K Narayanan has resigned from his post, according to media reports on Monday.
It was widely speculated that Narayanan would resign in line with the resignations of several governors appointed by the previous United Progressive Alliance (UPA) regime.
He had completed four years of his five-year tenure.
However, Narayanan was also recently quizzed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the AugustaWestland chopper deal.
Narayanan, 80, who was a National Security Advisor in 2005 during the deal, was questioned as a witness in the case on Friday.
The present BJP led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the centre wanted to replace Narayanan as theGovernor of West Bengal.
