        300 villagers held captive by Maoists ahead of Modi's Chhattisgarh visit
Raipur,May 9 (IBNS) Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Chhattisgarh, Maoists have held captive about 300 people of Marenga village in Sukma district, reports said.
	The Maoist act is believed to be aimed at stopping the villagers from attending Modi's rally scheduled to be held on Saturday.
	Boycotting Modi's visit to the Bastar region, Moaists have called a two-day Dandakaranya bandh on May 8 and 9.
	Visiting the Maoist hotbed of Dantewada district for the first time after assuming office Modi is scheduled to inaugurate on Saturday two projects worth Rs. 24,000 crore.
	
Reports said Modi will be the first Prime Minister after Rajiv Gandhi to visit the region to inaugurate development projects- a steel plant in Dantewada's Dilmili and the second phase of a 140 km railway line from Raoghat to Jagdalpur.
	
According to official reports, more than 15,000 security officials have been deployed for Modi's visit. The road which Modi will take is being sanitized.
