BJP using money power undermining democracy : Rahul Gandhi
New Delhi, Mar 14 (IBNS) : Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday accused the BJP of undermining democracy in its bid to form Government in Goa and Manipur with the help of "money power," reports said.
"Out of 5 states, BJP won two, we won three states. In two of the states we won, democracy is being undermined by them, using financial power and money," he told media.
"What they (BJP) did in Manipur and Goa is exactly the ideology we are fighting against," Gandhi said.
Commenting on the abject drubbing the Congress experienced in Uttar Pradesh, he said, "You have ups and downs and we had a little down in UP. We accept it."
Rahul also added that the party needs to make structural changes in the Congress.
In the 40-member House in Goa, the Congress has 17 MLAs, followed by the BJP with 13, MGP (3), GFP (3), NCP (1) and Independents (3) and no single party was in the majority.

However, BJP staked claim to form Government by garnering the support of MLAs from other other parties.
Though the Congress moved the Supreme Court challenging BJP being invited to form Government, the top court rejected the petition, asking Goa Chief Minister-designate Manohar Parrikar to seek trust vote on Thursday.
Also In Manipur, BJP, which is behind Congress in terms of individual tally, has claimed to have secured the support of 32 MLAs after getting the support of NDA constituent parties and two other MLAs.
