New Delhi, Aug 24 (IBNS) The Narendra Modi government on Monday asked Pakistan to collect voice sample of 26/10 Mumbai terror attack The Ministry of External Affairs said that Pakistan first needs to collect Lakhvi's voice sample and then hand over the same to India. The MEA added that India will match his voice samples.

The remarks came a day after Pakistan's National Security Advisor Sartaj Aziz said that it is ready to match Lakhvi's voice samples.

Aziz said, "We need the voice sample that you (India) have recorded so we can present it in the court. What is the point of providing it to India? We need the trial here. We are going to write, because we could not meet to ask for the all the additional evidence we require to conclude the trial. This is what the Ufa agreement says. So we are going to write about it and so there fore we need the voice sample here so that we can then present it to court as evidence if it matches."

Earlier, Lakhvi's lawyer said that he would not give his voice sample for the trial of those involved in the incident.

A Pakistan court had granted bail to Lakhvi in December 2014 over lack of evidence.

Lakhvi, along with six others,  have been charged with planning and executing the Mumbai attacks in November, 2008 that left 166 people dead.
