Kolkata, Sept 28 (IBNS): The Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry organised its first edition of the e-business summit and also launched the Entrepreneurs Business Forum, recently at The Bengal Chamber here.

Simarpreet Singh (Director, JIS Group) the Chairperson of Entrepreneur’s Business Forum, Raj Kumar Srivastava (IFC, Managing Director, Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation Ltd.) R.N. Lahiri, (Director, Techno India Batanagar),  Dmitry Makeev (Head of E-Commerce, Russian Export Centre) and Debabrata Mitra (Deputy Director – MSME Development Institute, Govt. of India) were present at the session.

Simarpreet Singh, Director, JIS Group, said, “To me entrepreneurship encompasses designing, launching and running new business ventures, usually known as start-up companies, offering a product, process or service. Practically the entrepreneur is a person who rather than working as an employee, organises and manages the business assuming all risks and rewards of a given business ventures or innovative ideas required for the success of his firm. Entrepreneurs always perceive new business opportunities and often exhibit positive biases in their perception and a pro-risk-taking attitude.”

According to  Raj Kumar Srivastava, “Entrepreneurship Business Forum has been created to provide a dynamic and interactive entrepreneurial environment to help entrepreneurs and business leaders, inspire them, build business connect and share knowledge that leads to business growth and success.”

The Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry has set up a new cell to enthuse, incubate and mentor entrepreneurship ventures across industry sectors. The present initiative is an earnest manifestation of the same.

The Bengal Chamber has taken the initiative to becoming a catalyst in facilitating emergence of competent entrepreneurs and transition of existing SMEs into growth-oriented enterprises through entrepreneurship education, training, research and institution building.

With the penetration of Internet in the industry for over a decade, E-Business has become an extension of E-Commerce, encompassing directly all aspects of business that function online, vis-a-vis indirectly affecting all other business.

To keep in pace with the fastest changing technology, the Govt. Of India has adopted all the measures to provide huge business opportunities to the young entrepreneurs and is also putting emphasis towards transacting e-business, this upgrading the business process and adopting technologies to work in this area.
