Kozhikode Airport in Kerala reopens after clashes, one CISF personnel killed
Kozhikode, June 11 (IBNS): The Karipur International Airport in Kerala has been reopened hours after it was shut down as a result of firing incident inside it premises which left a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) official killed.
The CISF personnel was killed following a scuffle between security staff and Airport Authority of India officials on Wednesday.
The incident also left two Airport Authority of India officials killed.
According to reports, the dispute started when the CISF officer stopped an airport official at the VIP gate insisting for a body search.
The airport officials grabbed the CISF personnel's gun which accidentally went off.
Following the incident, flights were diverted to Kochi. Around 400 passengers were left stranded at the airport.
