Modi govt wants to keep transfers/postings with itself through L-G: AAP
New Delhi, May 21 (IBNS): Amid a strong tussle between the Delhi government and the Lieutenant Governor, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) senior leader Ashutosh on Thursday alleged that the Narendra Modi government wants to keep the power to take the administrative decisions with itself through Najeeb Jung.
He also alleged that the Centre wants to keep the decision of transferring or posting of officers to itself since it is a "million dollar industry."
"Why MODI govt wants to keep transfer/Posting with itself through LG ? because it's a million dollar industry & major source of corruption," Ashutosh tweeted.
"Lakhs of rupees are paid as bribe to get a lucrative posting and money is distributed top to bottom. Every body has a share," he wrote.
He also claimed that it is his party which has stopped the practice of bribery over transfer or posting.
"Ask anybody in Delhi and people will tell you that BJP led MCD is the most corrupt body. AAP has stopped bribe in Transfer/posting," the AAP leader alleged.
He also slammed the IAS association in his tweet referring to the sacking of the two top bureaucrats by the BJP-led government at the Centre earlier this year.
"IAS association was sleeping like Kumbhkaran when Home Secretary and Foreign Secretary were humiliated and removed," Ashutosh tweeted.
This comes after the IAS Officers' Association on Wednesday met to discuss the escalating turf war between Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the Lieutenant Governor, which has resulted in one officer being publicly criticized and another being removed from office.
The power struggle began soon after Jung decided to promote IAS officer Shakuntala Gamlin as acting Chief Secretary of Delhi, without consulting the Chief Minister.
Kejriwal retaliated by removing the officer who signed off on the Lieutenant Governor's order while principal Secretary Anindo Majumdar was locked out of his office on Monday.
Both Arvind Kejriwal and the Lieutenant Governor met President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday and accused each other of violating the Constitution.
