Cauvery dispute: Karnataka CM says SC order difficult to enforce
Bengaluru/New Delhi, Sep 21 (IBNS): The Karnataka Government is holding a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday under Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to decide on the Supreme Court's order to the state to release 6000 cusecs of water from the Cauvery river daily to Tamil Nadu between Sep 21 and 27, according to media reports.
Karnataka chief minister had earlier said it will be "difficult to enforce" the apex court's order, the media reported.
The Cabinet meeting will be followed by an all-party meeting,
The Karnataka government had earlier appealed to the apex court that releasing any more Cauvery water would result in a severe shortage of drinking water in Bengaluru, the media reported.
Karnataka CM has also spoken to Congress President Sonia Gandhi regarding the issue.
