Day after providing wrong calculation, Rahul Gandhi takes dig at PM Modi
New Delhi, Dec 6 (IBNS): A day after providing wrong calculation, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday defended himself, saying to err is human and he too commits mistakes unlike Prime Minister Narendra Modi,
Rahul took to Twitter on Wednesday to say: "For all my BJP friends: unlike Narendrabhai, I am human. We do make the odd mistake and that’s what makes life interesting. Thanks for pointing it out and please do keep it coming, it really helps me improve. Love you all."
With just few days left for the state poll, Congress' would be President Rahul made a faux pas by providing wrong calculation in his question to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Twitter to only receive sarcasm from the saffron brigade.
Rahul, who is regularly putting one question each day to the BJP on Twitter, reportedly miscalculated the percentage of inflation.
In a list where the Congress Vice President has provided the increases in cost of various items were found to be 100% more than the actual figure.
While the cost of gas cylinder is expected to be 77% as per the list provided by Rahul, it is written as 177%.
Likely, the percentage of costs of pulses, tomatoes, onion, milk and diesel were all written as 100% more than the actual figure.
Rahul was tweaked by BJP leader G. Kishan Reddy who said the Congress' would be President is wrong in most things he says and the wrong calculation is not a standalone incident.
Reddy tweeted: "Soon to be anointed Congress President Rahul Gandhi gets most things quite horribly wrong. It is not his first time publicly circulating wrong information especially hard facts. So what's a little maths gone amiss in a series of blunders?"
Both Rahul and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have been campaigning hard in Gujarat, which will go to poll on Dec 9 and Dec 14.
The counting of votes is scheduled to take place on Dec 18.
The BJP is in power in Gujarat since 1995.
