Japan: PM Modi plays drums
Tokyo, Sept 2 (IBNS): Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi turned into a drummer as he played traditional Taiko drums at the inauguration of the TCS Japan Technology and Cultural Academy in Tokyo on Tuesday.
Modi was seen performing a ' jugalbandi' with the Japanese drummers playing the instrument at the event.
Modi inaugurated the TCS Japan Technology and Culture Academy and flagged off the first batch of students who will be going to India for training with TCS (Tata Consultancy Services).
The academy is a joint venture of Tata Consultancy Services and Mitsubishi Corporation.
In his remarks to the students, the Prime Minister said the 21st century would be a ‘knowledge century.’
He also referred to India’s ‘knowledge’ heritage and leadership of the world in the past, through institutions such as Taxila and Nalanda.
He hoped the students would come back with fond memories and become Ambassadors of India.
