JDU maintains hard stand over Tejeshwar, angry Lalu in touch with Congress
Patna, Jul 11 (TheBiharPost/IBNS): As Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's JD-U hardens its stand over Bihar deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, named an accused in a corruption case, RJD chief Lalu Prasad too has announced not to buckle under pressures anymore, media reports said on Tuesday.
A report in a local TV News channel said the RJD chief is in constant touch with the top Congress leadership over developments in Bihar and wants to “take to streets”, rather than facing daily tantrums form his ally, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
“Lalu Prasad is very angry over the developments in Bihar and wants to take to streets,” said the News Chanel quoting an unnamed top-level confidential source.
“Today as well, he talked to a senior Congress leader in Delhi,” the news channel reported.
Of late there has been a lot of “trust deficit” between Prasad and Kumar which touched a new low after the chief minister announced his support to NDA’s presidential candidate Ram Nath Kovind.
The Congress too has found Prasad “more tried and tested” than Nitish Kumar who changes his stand more often than not.
This became clear when the entire party came out in full support of embattled RJD president after the CBI raided his home in land-for-hotel scandal on Friday.
Not only Sonia Gandhi herself called up Prasad but the entire top Bihar Congress leaders and ministers rushed to his residence and expressed their solidarity with RJD president against the JD-U which has maintained complete distance with him till date.
