No complaints lodged against Preity: Wadia Group
Mumbai, June 17 (IBNS) The Wadia Group on Tuesday refuted reports that Wadia Hospital staff had lodged a complaint against Bollywood actress Preity Zinta.
In a statement to the media, the company said: "Certain sections of the media have been playing reports that the WadiaHospital staff has complained against Ms Preity Zinta at Marine Drive police station. This is totally incorrect and none of theWadia Hospital staff had gone to the police station."
Meanwhile, Zinta's lawyer on Monday clarified that Ness Wadia was not charged with "sexual molestation" allegation.
Ness Wadia is currently the Managing Director of the Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation, a company which has holdings in most of the Wadia Group subsidiaries, including an indirect majority stake in Britannia Industries.
Speaking to CNN-IBN, Hitesh Jain said the case was being portrayed as sexual molestation when the complaint has been registered under Section 354.
IPC says a person is punishable under the given Section 354 if he/she "Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty."
Jain added that even the actress never called it a case of sexual molestation.

According to reports, the cops will also write to IPL chief operating officer (COO) Sundar Raman and other officials regarding the allegation.
Meanwhile, two witnesses in the case will record their statements on Tuesday, said reports.
Bollywood actress Priety Zinta, who has brought charges against her former beau and IPL team co-owner Ness Wadia, named two witnesses to back her charges, according to a report in CNN IBN.
The channel reported that "she named the witnesses before leaving for the US" and Mumbai Police is trying to reach the witnesses she named.
According to reports in the channel, no CCTV footage might be available of the incident since there was no CCTV camera inside the corporate box where it allegedly occurred.
Actress and Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kings XI Punjab co-owner Preity Zinta has filed a molestation case againstindustrialist Ness Wadia, which she claimed was done to protect herself rather than hurting anyone.
Denying her allegations, Ness Wadia said he was "shocked" and termed them as "false and baseless".
Preity Zinta also issued a statement saying she has no intention to hurt anyone but wants to protect herself.
"This is a very difficult time for me and I would like to request the media to please respect my privacy regarding this matter. My intention is not to harm any one but only to protect myself," Preity said in her statement, which is available with the media.
The actress filed the complaint on Thursday night.
The police has registered a case under Section 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code.
Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria said the investigation is going on and the police will record statements of the witnesses.

In her statement to the police, the actress alleged that Wadia outraged her modesty and abused as well as threatened her during the IPL qualifier for the final between Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium on May 30.
