Raising doubts over Jayalalithaa's death Madras HC asks why her body could not be exhumed
Chennai, Dec 29 (IBNS) : In a twist to the chain of political events in Tamil Nadu, the Madras High Court on Thursday raised questions on the death of late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, asking why her body could not be exhumed to determine the reason, reports said.
Hearing a petition on Jaya’s death, Justice Vaidyalingam said, “Media has raised a lot of doubts and personally I also have doubts on Jayalalithaa's death.”
“When she was admitted in hospital, it was said that she was on proper diet. At least after her death, truth should be revealed,” he said.
Justice Vaidyalingam sought a detailed report on the matter.
Jayalalithaa, who died on December 5 was buried with full state honours at MGR Memorial, Marina Beach.
On September 22, Jayalalithaa was admitted to Apollo hospital by her closest aid Sasikala Natarajan and her husband due to dehydration and fever.
Thereafter, Jayalalithaa was kept in the hospital for 75 days and the details of the prognosis and the treatment remained unclear to most of the people giving rise to various speculations.
